Terms of Reference (TOR)

1. Background

Human Data Insight Group is a consulting company that partners with organizations to provide data-driven insights, enhance operational effectiveness, and drive strategic initiatives. We are seeking a Business Excellence Consultant with a strong IT background to optimize our internal processes and support digital transformation initiatives for our clients, particularly in the life sciences and healthcare sectors.

2. Objectives

The Business Excellence Consultant will work with Human Data Insight Group’s leadership and client teams to:

• Streamline business processes, improve operational efficiency, and implement best practices across the organization.
• Provide strategic guidance on IT-related initiatives and innovations to enhance overall business performance.
• Develop frameworks for operational excellence that align with our growth objectives and client needs.

3. Scope of Work

The consultant’s key responsibilities will include:

• Process Optimization: Assess and refine current workflows, identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions to increase efficiency.
• Digital Transformation: Advise on technology implementations and digital tools to support business functions and enhance productivity.
• IT Strategy and Governance: Develop a strategic IT roadmap that aligns with business goals, including technology selection, deployment strategies, and data management frameworks.
• Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs and benchmarks to track process efficiency and effectiveness.
• Change Management: Support the planning and execution of change management strategies to ensure smooth implementation of new processes and technologies.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks in IT and business processes, and provide solutions for mitigation.

4. Deliverables

• An IT roadmap and action plan outlining technology needs, potential enhancements, and integration strategies.
• Process improvement proposals, including visual workflows, key metrics, and performance indicators.
• Monthly reports on process optimization initiatives and key performance improvements.
• A comprehensive change management plan for implementing new processes or technologies.

5. Qualifications and Experience

• Proven expertise in business process improvement and IT strategy development, ideally in the life sciences or healthcare sectors.
• Solid experience in business excellence frameworks and IT project management.
• Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives, including knowledge of emerging technologies relevant to consulting and professional services.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex IT concepts into actionable business strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team environment.

6. Duration and Reporting

The consultant will report to the Innovation Unit at Human Data Insight Group. The duration of the engagement will be determined based on project scope, with flexibility for part-time availability and remote work.
